Local artists Ian Ingram & Becky Wittsche have completed an enchanting new mural for the Zilker Eagle Mini Train! The mural, entitled Reflections of You, is located in the train tunnel beneath the Barton Springs Road bridge over Barton Creek. Their vision was to make everyone feel welcome by offering “a journey of joy, inclusion, diversity and a celebration of light.”
The mural offers two distinct experiences for the mini train’s outgoing and returning trips. Ian & Becky’s art will surround riders with fourteen bands of color at one end and a dazzling “pot of gold” at the end of the tunnel. They utilized walls, ceiling and connected pillars making both trips through the tunnel unique and engrossing.
Reflections of You is a loan to the City of Austin through their Art in Public Places program. Established in 1985, this program works with artists to incorporate the history and values of the Austin community into cultural landmarks. Austin’s public art is a big part of our city’s identity, and we hope this new mural will make residents proud and bring visitors joy.

“We wanted the mural to be more than a picture on the wall. We sought to saturate the experience with warmth and joy and for every rider to be able to find a piece of themselves reflected within the painting.” – Ian Ingram & Becky Wittsche
The inside of the tunnel is only accessible by the train. People are not permitted to walk on the tracks or access the tunnel by foot. Until the train opens, we encourage folks to view the mural from the pedestrian bridge/walking path below the train tunnel. Please refrain from entering the tunnel on foot for any reason.
