It’s time for your June update on the Zilker Eagle mini train, and this is the one we’ve all been waiting for: the train is leaving the station! We are thrilled to share that the Zilker Eagle will officially open to the public THIS WEDNESDAY, June 12. And we’ll have another reason to celebrate that day: Wednesday is also Austin Parks Foundation’s birthday!
The Zilker Eagle mini train will officially open to the public on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Zilker Park. The train departs from the train depot, located at 2131 1/2 William Barton Drive. Tickets can be purchased at the train depot. Due to ongoing construction on the Barton Springs Bathhouse, one-way traffic on William Barton Drive near the bathhouse will be limited to emergency vehicles, construction deliveries, and vehicles needing accessible parking: be sure to follow all traffic signs. The closest parking to the train depot are the playscape lot and the rugby field lot.
