Happy January! As we embark on a new year, we are resolving to get the Zilker Eagle up and running as soon as possible, and today, we have some exciting news to share.
Earlier this week, you may have seen some activity around the tracks: the first three train coaches have returned! The cars have spent the last several months in Schertz, TX, where they were retro-fitted with upgraded lighting, all new air brakes, wiring and couplers. The rest of the train will be arriving in Austin in the coming weeks, and now that maintenance on the bridge under Barton Springs Road is complete, we’ll be able to start testing it once it gets here! We know this process has taken longer than we had planned, but we feel we’re entering the home stretch, and we are so grateful for your support and patience. We remain hopeful that the Zilker Eagle will enter the testing phase in the coming weeks, and we should have a clearer opening timeline to share shortly thereafter. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me or Angela Osborn, APF VP of Marketing & Development, at any time to chat more.
